Like supporting female authors AND Planned Parenthood AND laughing?
Hello everybody! I’ve been gone for too long, I know. BUT before I get into my mysterious disappearance, I have a request for you all:
My good friend (b. whittaker) has just published a collection of real-life tinder messages she and her coworker have received stylized as poetry. I’ve read it, and it is hilarious. Half of the messages in the book had me laughing out loud and the other half had me questioning the sanity of the people who sent them AND the sanity of my friend for receiving all of them and not plucking her eyes out.
My request to you? BUY THIS BOOK (or download it for free with Kindle Unlimited). My friend’s coworker is currently finishing up grad school and every penny counts and goes directly to her final tuition payment. A portion of the proceeds ALSO go directly to Planned Parenthood, so not only are you supporting female entrepreneurs, you’re also supporting a great and important organization. And you’re getting to laugh while doing it.
The book is called Tinder and Honey (Yes, like Milk and Honey). It’s a parody of the parody Milk and Vine which was published last year by two clever college kids. And before you message me saying that this rips off of Rupi Kaur’s hard word, the authors thank Kaur for her wonderful words and include a direct link to purchasing her book in the hopes that it will support such a wonderful poet. They’re not trying to rip off her work, they just thought that a similar style would work best for short Tinder messages. And they also include donation links to Planned Parenthood in addition to donating proceeds from all sales. The book is also illustrated by a college art student so you’re also paying an artist for his creations (paperback addition - coming soon)! Honestly, a win-win and supportive environment all around.
If this book does well, they’re hoping to launch a website of WTF tinder messages and crowdsource the horrific messages others have received from all over the world. So the laughs won’t stop just with this book.
So please, if you have 2.99 (or 1.99 today if you’re a Prime member) to spare, purchase their book here! (Or download for free with Kindle Unlimited/Prime reading) If every one of you downloaded the book, she’d be propelled to number 1 in an hour! PURCHASE HERE.
TL;DR: my friend is hilarious and published tinder messages she’s gotten. Buy her book and support Planned Parenthood and struggling art students.
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.
